Hi, I’m Dr. Laura. My story starts in Brazil. I grew up in a family of health professionals who inspired me to pursue Dentistry. I attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine for dental school and continued with a residency in Advanced General Dentistry at the University of Maryland. I have the technical knowledge to provide the best treatment, along with the mindfulness to make it personal.
It is important to me to understand my patient's concerns and to provide the best individualized solution for them. In order to provide excellent treatment options I love expanding my knowledge and I believe that as a doctor it is my duty to continue to learn and improve my skills. With the goal to provide the best treatment to my patient's I constantly invest in my education: I am an American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE) Certified Botox and Fillers Injector specializing in techniques to alleviate pain or enhance appearance. I have also trained in Digital Smile techniques that utilize the latest technology to develop a smile that is unique to each patient. I have completed the Advanced Mastership course in Biomimetics from Nejad Institute. I am a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) because achieving the most aesthetic result is my goal.
I know it can be hard to understand what treatment entails and finding accurate information online. So, I created an Instagram page @drlauracarvalho specifically to educate my patients and to get to know me more. This is a great forum to get new ideas, ask questions, and connect with me between appointments.
