Geoff Knight has been involved in general dentistry for over 50 years and is an internationally noted dental speaker from Melbourne, Australia, with special interests in Minimal Intervention Aesthetic Dentistry. He is an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry & Oral Health at La Trobe University, Victoria.
He has pioneered protocols for the pharmacological management of dental caries and periodontal disease. He has introduced the concepts of tunnel restorations and co-curing to minimal intervention dentistry and developed a number of innovative aesthetic techniques for the placement of direct laminate veneers, direct resin bridges and occlusal rehabilitation using composite resins. He has developed a non staining protocol for SMART and holds several patents within the dental industry.
Apart from his broad clinical base, he has been President of the state branch of the Australian Dental Association and has had extensive political and economic experience within the profession.
He has consulted widely across the dental industry and is currently a Non Executive Director of SDI Pty Ltd.
He has been published in Quintessence International, Australian Dental Journal and Journal of Periodontal Research. He has produced a series of clinical videos and webinars that have had well over 1 million hits on YouTube. He has published over 100 articles on aesthetic and adhesive dentistry, some of which, have been translated and published internationally in several languages.
He has a contributed a chapter to “Glass-Ionomers in Dentistry (S. Sidhu: Springer publishing)” and has published a text “Silver Fluoride and Glass Ionomer Cements: A SMART Operative Guide for Working with Teeth”
