Dr. Randy Shoup is a 1981 graduate of Indiana University School of Dentistry. Dr. Shoup served in the US Public Health Service for 3 years. Dr. Shoup practices microscope-based biomimetic dentistry in Indianapolis. He is the President of the Board of Directors for the Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry. Dr. Shoup has Mastership and is an examiner for certification in AMED. Dr. Shoup lectures internationally and across the United States on microscope based restorative dentistry utilizing minimally invasive, biomimetic techniques.
Dr. Shoup has pioneered techniques to restore endodontically treated teeth without using full coverage crowns.
Dr. Shoup holds two US patents and has developed a technique for placing pit and fissure sealants that never come off, never leak, and never suffer recurrent decay.
Dr. Shoup is the founder and president of K.I.N D. (Kenya Initiative for New Dentistry). Dr. Shoup’s foundation places special sealants on the teeth of the Maasai Tribe Children in the Maasai Mara region of Kenya. Dr. Shoup also provides school supplies and backpacks to the children. Dr. Shoup has also established a feminine hygiene supplies program for the young girls of the Mara.
Dr. Shoup has a one hour radio program on dental, medical, and health, nutrition, wellness, and patient advocacy called the Dr. Shoup Show. The program is a podcast on the web at www.ddsradio.com.
Dr. Shoup has taught in the following centers of dental education: Nova Southeastern School of Dentistry, West Virginia School of Dentistry, Indiana University School of Dentistry, Alleman-Dellipieri Teaching Center, ADA, and the AGD. He has also presented at the ADA, AGD, Greater New York, Chicago Midwinter, AAOSH, ABD, and numerous state meetings.
Dr. Shoup currently is conducting a lecture series across the US on how to restore the endodontically treated tooth and simple to complex direct composite and ceramic restorations.
Dr. Shoup is a member of the ADA, a Fellow AGD, and Mastership in the Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry.
Dr. Shoup is currently one of the principal investigators for the FDA clinical trial for the InnerView diagnostic instrument.
