Dr. Jacqueline Lucero began her dental career at the age of 15 years when her mother who at the time was a dental assistant got her a position as a part-time dental receptionist. What started out as a part-time after-school job turned out to be the core and foundation of her dental career. She worked 5 years as a dental assistant and then 12 years as a dental hygienist. Having held every position in the dental office has helped her develop into the practitioner that she is today. Dr. Lucero is a caring patient advocate who can empathize with people's fears and concerns. She has learned to treat a patient as a “whole” entity and not just a mouth.
“Our whole body is a wonderful interlinked network and whatever is going on in our body will manifest in our mouth. It is very important for me to educate my patients on this and encourage their overall health, body, and mind.” ~ Dr. Lucero
Dr. Lucero strongly believes that in order to have good oral health we need to have a strong and healthy Periodontal foundation. She has a strong periodontal background which aids her in implementing the right periodontal protocol for each patient to meet their individual needs.
Dr. Lucero has a passion for restorative and adhesive dentistry. She believes in having a conservative approach to tooth preparation and using dental materials that are both safe and compatible to the natural tooth structure. Dr. Lucero believes in treating every tooth as if it were her own tooth.
Dr. Lucero has a SMART certification. This is a Stress Management and Resiliency Training (SMART) developed by the Benson-Henry Institute in conjunction with Harvard Medical School.
